This past Friday, our Executive Director John Kostyack went on the live radio talk show FEDTalk to discuss the importance of whistleblower protections and the key role that whistleblowers play in ensuring oversight and accountability within both corporations and the federal government.
During the broadcast he touched on key recent developments in whistleblower policy ranging from the passage of the Taxpayer First Act to the introduction of the Wildlife Conservation and Anti-Trafficking Act of 2019 in the U.S. House of Representatives.
He commented, “I think it’s important to step back and think about the revolution in whistleblower law and policy we’ve seen in recent years because whether it’s somebody reporting on tax fraud or somebody reporting on securities fraud or fraud in commodities trading, we have seen enormous progress.”
He was joined by host Debra Roth; Tom Devine, Legal Director of the Government Accountability Project; and Liz Hempowicz, Director of Public Policy at the Project on Government Oversight.
